It conducted its first examination in 1923. The UP Board was the first in India to have adopted the 10+2 system of examination since the vey beginning.
2.The first public examination after 10 years education is High School Examination and after the 10+2 stage, there is Intermediate Examination.
3.University of Allahabad was the examining body of these two examinations before 1923. However it was noticed that the Board faced considerable difficulty in controlling and conducting its activities centrally from Allahabad. As such four Regional Offices of the Board were established at Meerut (1973), Varanasi(1978), Bareilly(1981) and Allahabad(1987) under the control of Regional Secretaries. The head office continues to remain at Allahabad.
4.At present there are 9121 secondary schools recognized by the U.P. Board of High School and Intermediate Education. the Board is currently preparing the results of nearly 32 lakh students who appeared for the 10th and 12th class examination in the month of March 2012.
The UP Board had conducted the 12th class examination from 1 March 2012. The 12th class examination for all streams was completed by 4 April.
