Minority Scholarship 2013 Status - Merit Cum Means scholarship : 1. Ministry of Minority Affairs Govt. of India offers 20000 scholarships to various minority community students throughout the country every year. Look below for Minority Merit Cum Means scholarship 2013-14 which is prepared based on the state-wise population of these communities.
2. Common Features of Merit Cum Means scholarship Schemes :
1. For female candidates, 30% of scholarships are offered.
2. Candidates must secure minimum 50% marks in the previous final examination.
3. More than 2 students from the same family are not eligible for scholarship.
4. Based on the population of minority candidates scholarships will be allotted to States/UTs.
5. State Govt./UT Administration has implemented this scheme.
6. Scholarship will not be awarded for candidates for more than one source.

4. Eligibility criteria for Minority Scholarship :
- Candidates must have passed the competitive exam, got admit and pursued technical/professional courses in a recognized college.
- Students, who have got admission in a recognized college to pursue technical/professional courses, without facing any competitive examination, will also be eligible for scholarship. However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly of merit.
- Scholarship holders under this scheme aren't eligible for any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.
- Total annual family income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of the beneficiary from all sources must be less than Rs.2.50 lakh per annum.
- Candidates located at particular State/UT are eligible for scholarship under State/UT quota only irrespective of his place of study.
5. Application Procedure : Candidates must submit their applications in prescribed format to the Secretary of the, dept. of the concerned State Govt/UT administration, associated with minority welfare, through the institutions where the candidates are pursuing technical/professional courses. The candidate mustn't submit their applications to the state which he/she is studying but to the state where the institution where he/she is located.
